Ama's quite a bit larger than it was 2 years ago and so I wanted to post a note about the expansion and the guild and grouping because I don't want people feeling left out of anything. We have enough people in Northrend now that we could run multiple groups without much issue and I think that if anyone wants to group up for questing or instancing they shouldn't hesitate to ask in chat and start invites for stuff.
I know that many of you are solo questing or grouping with friends and that's also fine. How you play the game is up to you. But if you need help with anything the guild is around, you just have to be proactive about it. :)
That said I'm happy to tank stuff most of the time so just ask!

I still need to find a person to drive me to the store, or I could walk there--but then it'd be like RL Fallout Wastelands

Sat, 11/15/2008 - 9:47pmWhy don't you just order it online, Bram?
Rambles Everroot
Sun, 11/16/2008 - 1:09amCan I? and DL it online too?
Faalon
Sun, 11/16/2008 - 8:13amShould be able to, Amazon will ship it to you, Im not sure about the online DL though. Although I had heard it exists.
Qyn
Sun, 11/16/2008 - 12:26pmYou can't buy it online and download it, only download it once you've upgraded your account with the key which right now you have to get via the store bought copy.
Amazon would be my suggestion too.

Tue, 11/18/2008 - 6:26amYou stole my Bramble-Proof pants Qyn :o
Was wondering where our furry friend was.
Oh yeah, we have a forum that goes with our guild. o.o
Alsoo, instance running in Northrend is ftw. They did such a great job with colors and graphics stuff. I say we run Azjol-Nerub like 398432948234 times.

Tue, 11/18/2008 - 7:49amYeap still trying to to get-a copy, then hopefully I can get on and fill a slot in the lower level 5-mans (personally I'm not too keen on grouping for quests, but I may give it a shot every once in while)
Rambles Everroot
Tue, 11/18/2008 - 7:50amAlso: What is questing like up there? Are things fairly harmless (to the raid-gear equipped people) and easy to kill?
N8
Tue, 11/18/2008 - 8:25amYes everything is extremely easy to kill and the quests are abundant. Maybe things get harder in the higher-end content but I doubt it.
Lycannon
Tue, 11/18/2008 - 8:37amI'd say more challenging but I'm only at 74-76 content atm. The higher you get, the harder stuff is to round up in a bunch and kill, but that's probably my gear screaming: WTF Im frum Kara L2Upgrade.
I'd say it would be easier for you as opposed to me because you can heal.
Ask John. O.o

Tue, 11/18/2008 - 11:57amOh yeah....I was gonna look into the "survivalist" spec for feral...tossing in nat swiftness, and seeing where I go from there

Nvm on that experiment! Costs too much to actually get Nat swift :(

Tue, 11/18/2008 - 12:04pmBack to the point of this thread.
I'd like to offer my services up for anyone that needs it. Unfortunately I'm only DPS, but offer quite a punch when called in for duty. I'm open to any instance or quest (post 70).
I find that this expansion has brought forth a HUGE group unbalance due to how fun certain specs are to play over others. I'm amazed at the amount of healers (including myself) that have respeceed to oomkins, retadins, and elemental due to the sheer pain it is to level with these specs. Maybe it will fix itself come level 80, but I honestly don't see many paladins rerolling holy since its a snore compared to DPS. I think blizzard needs to implement dual spec ASAP otherwise suffer from burn out from the customer base. I don't think anyone should be forced to tank or heal when DPS is funner. Why should certain classes sacrifice their fun for the sake of others?

Tue, 11/18/2008 - 12:26pmTanking is mad fun compared to dps.
N8
Tue, 11/18/2008 - 1:05pmWell they kinda fixed it by making tanks do *more* dps than they used to. But obviously DPS specs are a bit more sexy.
Vasya
Wed, 11/19/2008 - 12:46amI don't find that to be true at all. I find DPS to be insanely boring once you figure out a rotation, while both tanking and healing usually take some level of unpredictability. I'm oversimplifying, of course, but overall both tanking and healing have kept my interest a lot longer.
Qyn
Wed, 11/19/2008 - 7:09amYea, <3 tanking.
Although, for me, it's more fun to warrior tank now than it was before. Easier, yes, but doing more damage and having more options for rotations and methodologies makes it more interesting than the pretty rigid rotations and inability (unless you were ridiculously overgeared) to aoe tank anything pre 3.0.
I do enjoy dpsing as a break from tanking since every dps class I've played thus far has taken about half my usual attention and large crits are always fun. Altho, I'm getting 7-8k shield slam crits as prot so I kinda feel like a dps class in my own right now. Rof.

Wed, 11/19/2008 - 1:50pmNot a guildie, but certainly offer my services as a tank or DPS. I also just discovered the pally's version of Shield Slam which is also trainable. =P
Rambles Everroot
Wed, 11/19/2008 - 2:03pmHmmm....dps can be fun for 5-mans (well maybe more so than raids) since they still have to adapt to the unpredictable events, ie: taking on roles of sustaining themselves and others in the face of a wipe--although everyone usually has to strive towards that point--I hope bear tanking becomes more interesting (swipe makes it much more fun now, but it still seems to be a grinding rotation, with a little flair when a mob goes after a healer or dps.)
Also: Anyone have any info on resistance sets for LK raids/instances? If I'm to go north then i'll need to clear out bank space for all the various things i pick up, and having 2 bags filled w/ Resist gear is a bit much for me--I'd feel sad vendoring my SR gear, and FR gear, but if it is of no more use then I'd be happy with more inventory space
Qyn
Wed, 11/19/2008 - 2:31pmHow's shield slam working, Agi? What kinda damage do you do?
Agiathas
Wed, 11/19/2008 - 3:13pmShield of Righteousness does about 1200-1400 damage in my current tank gear when i'm prot, which I found really surprising. Even more surprising when I saw it crit for over 2500 a few times. After a few boss fights, I am sold and fit it in my standard tank rotation.
Between that and Hammer of Righteousness as prot, I have yet to see anyone come close to getting aggro. I do want to try ret tanking (in tank gear of course) and see how effective it is in that situation. Might make for great single mob/boss off-tanking.
