Yeah, I was hoping to find Ogre Battle up there. I got through the Bioshock one and felt a little "Eh~~"
The advanced wars one is interesting (1/2 through that campaign) and deals with War Games. And OOC and Shadow of the Colossus are on standby for further reading. I was hoping they would be dealing with the literary value of narrative and plot to video games, but I haven;t really found that yet.
I'm a few paragraphs into the SoC critic and it's pretty well done so far. I'd recommend scaling the wall-of-text if you have played this game (big spoiler if you have not, so rent it and play it first since the game is relatively short)! The insights it provides are pretty nice, especially given the POV I chose to take when playing the game.
I finally got around to reading a bunch of them. They're definitely a bit heady, and sometimes I feel the writer is trying a bit too hard, like in the OoT chapter. Overall pretty good reads.

Kind of intimidating walls of text under each game, I couldn't even get through the zelda entry.
Not a single RTS on the list, I find that a little strange.

Wed, 06/03/2009 - 8:10pmYea, some are good and some aren't. Seems to be the norm when you combine a bunch of different authors together.
