Just got back from the theater and wow. This movie stands above all the other ones I've seen recently like the mothership floats above the city! Great action (with lots of exploding humans and such), engaging story, and good literary value! At 9.50$ I felt like it redeemed all the other dollars put into the theater in the past year, and then some!
Ok, time to go to bed...probably resulting in dreams of aliens, action, and moral tension...lots of caffeine in the morning!

Fri, 09/18/2009 - 12:19amDUDE I JUST SAW THIS AND I NERDGASMED ALL OVER EVERYTHING. It's wild how cliched some bits of the movie are but how fantastically fresh everything else about it seems to be. Favorite movie of all time ever. Or at least this year.

Fri, 09/18/2009 - 5:47amI saw it a week or two ago (forgot there was a thread about it!) and I can't decide if I liked it or not. I think I did. I'm leaning towards that way . . . The first 30 minutes of the movie almost lost me, but then it came into its own after that. Also, I really liked the super industrial look of the alien tech, like the ship in Alien.

Mon, 09/21/2009 - 9:45amThis was probably was geared towards me since I went to the drive in for this. I didn't realize their were such explicit rules for going to a drive in. I guess that's why I have such bad success with the ladies.... oh wait that's right.
Sometimes you have to make a compromise and the way I was able to coax her into seeing the movie was with the promise of "The Ugly Truth" was showing afterwards.
