WoW wants me back, and they've given me 7 days of free play. Should I log in now and get the Brood Whelpling pet? What's the state of the art in addon updaters?
addon updaters? you mean like curse profiler or the ace one?...i think thats the only one i know of and i dont think the ace one is around anymore since wowace merged with curse
Oh, hey, addons, no idea I've only updated a few of mine over the last couple of months. Log in, get the whelpling pet, do some tday activities, profit.
Onyxian whelpling. Every char that logs in until..I think the 6th (maybe the 8th?) gets one. Though that is kind of pointless since the thing is bind on account so you can just mail it to your other chars.
Think I'll be online tonight or tomorrow. Going in with no addons! I think that will prevent me from actually wanting to play, I'll just go get the pet and chill out. See who's online, yadda yadda.
If I'm not mistaken, isn't this the first time they allowed old players to come back for a week of free playing? I think this shows a drop in subscription base and I'd be interested to see what other things they come up with.
I didn't have it installed until I got the email, so I doubt reinstalling will help. I think it's a Win7/hardware issue but I don't really care enough to figure it out via error logs. I'll try logging in on some other character and/or playing with some graphics settings tonight. If it's my RAM or graphics card then hopefully it'll run on lowest settings. If not, eh, 7 days = meh.

You might also be able to ticket a GM to move you somewhere less crowded, like Shatt. :P
